Well. It’s time. While trying to resist all of the “If you’re new here…” IG posts and updates from the influencers in my vortex, I’ve managed to collect a few inquiry questions I’ve received over the last couple of years (yes, years). So, without further ado. Happy Spring Equinox.
What inspired you to pursue a career in integrative medicine and clinical herbalism?
I was at the tale end of postpartum depression. After giving birth to my youngest moon (daughter), life had given me a 1st class ticket to ‘WTF is this’ island….and by this, I mean I did not recognize the woman I had become at that chapter in my life. Fast forward a year and a half later. I was divinely guided to the world of integrative medicine. I saw it as an invitation to heal the murkiest parts of me. I felt as if God was swooning me back to a version of me I could remember. A medicine woman. 2 years into my medicine program, I found myself being initiated in the desert and mountainous Mexican border region of San Diego County, by an 11-year-old priestess of an indigenous Hispanic tribe. {I’m sharing more of this experience in an upcoming project.}
I believe that was the inspiration. I was ‘in-spirit’ ( in-spir-ed) and led to study ancient medicine and meet the priestess within myself.
How do you balance your roles as a spiritual teacher, ceremonialist, writer, practitioner of medical astrology, human design, mamahood, and all your passions?
I don’t. I used to seek balance; as a state of equilibrium or equipoise; an equal distribution of weight. Specifically, through motherhood, the weight of caretaking & service is not always distributed equally. I have learned that every task and position of service and support I hold has its own appointed space and alignment within my life and the lives of my children and clients. Everything won’t be completed in a day…or within the week; all my efforts to be all and do all will sometimes fall short. I have learned to surrender balance and open my body, mind, and spirit to the infinite possibilities of harmony. What would it look like if we surrendered our lives to a beautiful dance of energy, frequency, and vibration?… perhaps, various cords, and melodies are being released simultaneously; however, all are in harmony. That’s how I live through my existence as a woman, as a human, as an intuitive being, as a mama, and as a wild & wise vessel of multidimensional healing.
Can you share some of your favorite tools for achieving "orgasmic living"?
Oh, yes. My favorite subject (aside from grief and devotion); Orgasmic living is another way of Making Love to Life. So, I’ll make a bulleted list for us:
Holistic Wellness Practices: a tool that I have, not only created my business through, but one that I trust, raise my children, love and receive love; and how live in my non-negotiables. Tools like a tailored, blood-type nutrition regimen, exercise movement that is aligned with my physical constitution and celestial being-ness (yes, there are movements I suggest solely for Geminis or any other sign), mindfulness teaching & practices, and placing my body and being in geographical spaces that feel good to my nervous system.
Herbal Remedies for Vitality: I take, teach, and offer well-being plans for various herbs and botanical remedies that can support adrenals, energy levels, and overall health. This love language can manifest through recipes for herbal teas, tinctures, or salves that promote well-being and vitality.
Spiritual Practices for Connection: Because I believe in my multidimensional human being existence, I have a devotion to spiritual practices such as meditation, breathwork, and energy healing that foster a deeper connection with myself and the world around me. These practices are the gateway to enhancing pleasure and fulfillment in everyday life.
Intuitive Writing for Self-Discovery: At the core of my being, writing is my first love. I have a daily practice of intuitive writing; which allows me to tap into my inner wisdom and creativity. If you’ve ever experienced a private or group
Rest Portal, Wednesday Devotion on Instagram, or taken any workshops with me, I offer writing prompts, exercises, and journaling techniques (sacred inquiry) that promote self-discovery and personal growth.
Astrology and Human Design for Self-Understanding
Empowering Mamahood
Embracing Sensuality and Pleasure: I openly look for ways to explore the connection between sensuality, pleasure, and overall well-being. In my research and workshops, I loved to teach and practice cultivating pleasure in everyday life, whether through mindful eating, sensual movement, or intimate connections with others.
What are your thoughts on the intersection of spirituality and sexuality?
Ok, Last one for now….and this question is one that I certainly intend to continue to live with; as I am a believer that the answers come in the doing. The intersection of spirituality and sexuality is a topic close to my heart, blending my years of experience in integrative medicine with my deep understanding of spirituality and human connection. Spirituality and sexuality are intertwined aspects of the human experience, both rooted in our fundamental essence and vitality. At their core, they both involve the exploration of energy, connection, and the expression of our authentic selves.
From a spiritual perspective, sexuality can be seen as a sacred and transformative force, capable of deepening our connection not only with ourselves but also with others and the divine. Through practices such as tantra, mindfulness, and conscious intimacy, we can tap into the spiritual dimension of sexuality, experiencing profound states of bliss, union, and transcendence. Moreover, understanding the energetic dynamics of sexuality through modalities like Medical Astrology and Human Design allows us to align with our unique cosmic blueprint, honoring our natural rhythms and desires while cultivating a deeper sense of harmony and fulfillment.
I often guide individuals on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment, helping them reclaim their innate sensuality, pleasure, and vitality. By integrating practices such as ceremony, intuitive writing, and holistic wellness into their lives, individuals can awaken to the sacredness of their sexuality and embrace a more orgasmic way of living. At our annual Spiritual Immersion Retreat in Costa Rica, everyone can always hear me at the opening dinner, exclaiming passionately while we dance, “You can’t receive with tight hips!”
I’m a mama. I understand the trauma and the power that rests within the emotional intelligence of our hips, and even deeper within our wombs. Spirituality and Sexuality both meet in the cradle of our pelvic floor. Both offer a rich tapestry of exploration, healing, and transformation, inviting us to embrace our authentic selves, deepen our connections, and live more fully in alignment with our highest truth and purpose.
Well. That was a delight a surprise, right? I leave you with a #Springintention from my heart to yours:
I pray your Spring opening brings you more than your heart and mind have prepared for in all of the best ways. May you continue to allow the tender parts of you to ripen with grace and compassion. May you continue to know the depth of God’s love and truth for your life and purpose. You are Divinely held and supported. In this new season and beyond.
Always, In all the ways,
Kira.
