Embodiment /n/: a tangible or visible form of an idea, quality, or feeling.
When we experience the world through our bodies and senses, we may feel grounded in our physical bodies or embodied. This is the concept surrounding embodied healing. More than a collection of protocols, quotes from authors, or a collection of books; to embody the path of healing that you have been Divinely assigned, means you don’t just have a set list of things to do, but you live, breathe and have your being within this path. You are not separate from it.
Embodiment practices are derived from somatic therapy. If somatic therapy (typically used in the treatment of PTSD) helps patients focus on bodily sensations triggered by thoughts of the traumatic memory; how much more effective would these bodily sensations be if our somatic patterns triggered thoughts of release and ease, allowing the constricted parts of us to open and soften.
This channeled devotion is a #gentlereminder:
Rather than focusing on the mind as we do to keep us accountable in our everyday living, somatic embodiment can help us focus on the feedback loop between the body and mind. Thus, having body awareness becomes a crucial healing agent.
…take the pressure off of you. Settle into your body that all that you are experiencing conspires to assist and anchor you deeper into yourself.
Start your sacred inquiry like this, “What would it feel like if (or when)….”
and allow your lens to be expanded. If you’re looking for tangible evidence that this life is worth living, it’s you! Take a listen, above. Come back to this sacred inquiry question….and feel the answer.
Love is you. Embody it.
Kira.
